Mangaluru, November 7: Five jail staffs including the jail superintendent have been suspended following the double murder of inmates inside the district jail here.
On Friday November 6th, orders were passed for the suspension of five jail staffs including jail superintendent Obaleshappa, it is learnt.
On November 2nd morning, a gang war that erupted in sub-jail here resulting in the murder of two undertrails Madoor Isubu and his associate Ganesh Shetty. Cases were registered against five persons and involvement of prison staff was also suspected in the incident.
Confirming the suspension, ADGP (Prisons) Kamal Pant told the media that they were suspended for lapse in duty.
