Karkala, November 7: Udupi district Superintendent of police, K Annamalai, has ordered suspension from duty to police sub-inspector of the station here, Imran, for misconduct.
On the night of November 3rd, Imran along with his wife had visited a shop in Karkala town to buy some items. At that time, a youth named Raghavendra Moily had also come to this shop for purchasing things, and at that moment, he reportedly accidentally touched Imran’s wife. Imran, alleging that Raghavendra Moily had intentionally touched his wife, had abused Raghavendra Moily, and also had assaulted him.
Raghavendra, who was severely injured in the incident, is being treated at the taluk government hospital here. Based on the information provided by the hospital, a case stands registered in the Karkala rural police station against Imran. Karkala sub divisional assistant superintendent of police, Dr Suman, had investigated the case and submitted a detailed report to the SP K Annamalai. The report has proved the misconduct of Karkala SI Imran and he has been suspended from duty.
