Mangaluru, October 19: The Pandeshwar police arrested a man and seized a vehicle on Sunday, October 18th from near Mangaladevi here in which the skins of cattle and sheep were being illegally transported.
The arrested is Umarabba (40), resident of Vulachil. Another accused has been arrested, it is said.
After the Pandeshwar police received information from the Bajrangdhal activists that the skin of cattle and sheeps were being illegally transported in a pick-up vehicle from Mangaladevi area to a slaughter house in Kudroli here; the police in an operation seized about 50kgs of cattle skin and three kgs of sheep skin from near Mangaladevi.
It is said, in Ullal, Thokkotu, Konaje and in the border areas of Kerala, the cattle and sheep’s are illegally slaughtered and their skins are being transported to slaughter houses.
Some time ago, while Umarabba was illegally transporting the skin of cattle in pick-up vehicle, he was caught and was arrested. He has been once again caught in a similar incident.
The police have registered a case.
