Mangaluru, October 13: VHP District President Jagadish Shenava in a press meet here on Tuesday October 13th demanded the government to provide Rs 25 lakhs as compensation for flower vendor and Bajrangal Dal activist Prashant Poojary who was murdered recently in Moodbidri town.
He said, in the state, from past two years, communal forces like SDPI and PFI goons have been involved in anti-national activities, cattle theft, slaughtering of cattle and love Jihad to disrupt communal harmony. Though cases were filed on these organizations and their activists, they were withdrawn by the state government, which indicates indirect support to their acts. This has resulted in rising number of cattle thefts, cow slaughter, love Jihad, and attacks on Hindu activists, he said.
He alleged that no minister or MLA has condemned the death of Prashant Poojary. If the police had acted on time and imposed nakabandi immediately after the murder, the culprits could have been arrested. But due to the delay of police, the culprits could escape easily.
He warned of Satyagraha protest on October 19th if the culprits are not arrested within a week. The VHP and Bajrang Dal will collect Rs 10 lakhs and give it to family of Prashant Poojary, he said.
Bhujanga Kulal, Gopal Kuthar, were present among others on this occasion.
