It is gathered that the men opened one round of fire while passing the jewellery store on their bike. Later, they again came by the same way and shot at the store again and fled the spot, said the eyewitnesses.

It is said, the first round of bullets was shot from the bike which was moving towards Puttur bus stand. Then after about ten minutes the same bike had returned by the same way and opened fire once again.

The bullets damaged the glass pane on the front side of the store. No injuries were reported.

A case has been registered at Puttur town police station. The police have taken the bullets found at the spot and are investigating into the case.
