Mangaluru, October 3: Hundreds of College students participated in the ‘Run 4 Health’ marathon that began from City Centre Mall in city on Friday October 2nd to create awareness on cancer especially in rural India.
This event was organised by a Cancer Foundation, Early Detection For a Better Future (EDBF). EDBF is a cancer foundation launched by Afreen Vaz, who is also medical student.
The health run began from City Center Mall in KS Rao road here and passed through Hampankatta, St Aloysius College, Jyothi, Bunts Hostel, PVS, Navbharat circle and culminated at City Center Mall.
Femina Miss India Afreen Vaz addressed the gathered and said, I am very excited since this is the first health run and the first fund raising event by EDBF an NGO that I have founded to help the rural parts of India. Right now, we have got lot of students from various colleges of Mangaluru coming here in support of the noble cause.
Lal Goel promoter, Pandith Health Resort said, Afreen Vaz has taken up a very good cause. Health is wealth and it is very important for us.
Charan Suvarna from Fashion ABCD, Paulose, Global TV owner, Dr Bhasker, Giving Tree Trust and others were also present on this occasion.
