Mangaluru, October 01: A student of St Aloysius College here has reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself in his hostel room, on Wednesday night, September 30th.
The deceased is identified as Noel Mendonsa, from Mumbai. His roommate had been on leave, it is said.
On Thursday morning, as there was no response from inside when his other hostel mates knocked at the door, they informed the warden, who looked through the ventilator and saw Noel hanging inside, it is said.
The reason for taking such extreme step is unknown.
The police are investigating the case.
Following this college students led by ABVP gathered in the college premises and staged protest urging investigation into the case.
