Mangaluru, October 01: As the Karnataka State Government has declared October 3rd as Beary Language Day, the Beary Sahitya Academy has organised various programs including Beary Month celebration till October 31st, informed B A Mohammed Haneef, President, Beary Sahitya Academy.
Addressing a press meet at the Beary Sahitya Academy Office here on Wednesday, September 31st, he said, Beary language promotion campaign will be inaugurated on October 1st. DC AB Ibrahim will inaugurate the event at the premises of DC office at 10am on that day. On the same occasion, language promotion campaign CD consisting of songs as well as pamphlets will be released. Later a rally will be held, informed B A Mohammed Haneef.
On October 2nd, Beary language reading competition will be organized for students and the public’s, in district Muslim Educational Institutions Association Office near Bavutagudde Mosque. On October 3rd at 3pm the Beary language Day will be celebrated at TV Raman Pai convention centre in the city.
On this occasion, photography and books exhibition, release of story compilation, three people who can speak Beary language will be formally honoured, Beary authors will be felicitated and winners in the competitions will also be felicitated. Retired Principal Satyanarayna Mallipatta will present a lecture on language diversity, he informed.
The event will be presided over the academy president Mohammed Haneef. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA Moideen Bava, District in-charge minister Ramanath Rai, Health and Family welfare Minister UT Khader, Minister Abhaychandra Jain, Minister JR Lobo, Dr Mohan Alva- Chairman of Alvas Educational institutions Moodbidre, Tulu Sahitya Academy President Janaki M Bramhavara and Konkani Sahitya Academy President Roy Castelino, MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, MLC Ivon D’Souza, President of Mangalore Bar Assocaition SP Chengappa and others will be present, informed B A Mohammed Haneef.
He also added that Beary dictionary scripting works are 50 percent completed.
Beary language news paper is already released and will be released soon. Letters have been forwarded to 800 Mosques in the district to encourage Beary Language. Within two months, land will be available for construction of Beary Bahvan. Thoughts are on to organize Beary Language conference in 2016. Beary Language study centre will begin in University, informed B A Mohammed Haneef.
During the press meet, logo of Beary language Day was also released. Later the president, B A Mohammed Haneef handed over the order copy to three members appointed by the government to the academy such as Mohammed Zakaria Kalladka, Abdul Lateef Neralakatte, and Mohammed Sahrif.
