Kundapur, September 25: A spot where cows were slaughtered illegally and without any permission was raided by Kundapur police at around afternoon on Friday, September 25th near Mavinakatte junction.
The accused Rashid and two others managed to escape during the raid. Police during the raid have seized beef weighing more than one quintal, a live calf, one mobile phone and two knives from the spot.
Based on reliable information, the Kundapur circle inspector Diwakar PM along with police personnel’s raided the spot. Soon after the accused learnt about the raid they managed to escape. The police found chopped meat of an animal, a animal which was killed and a calf which was tied at the spot to be slaughtered; which were all seized. In addition police have also found mobile and other tools used for slaughtering.
The locals said this place was not butchery and it is suspected that on the eve of festival, the animals might have been slaughtered.
A case has been registered at Kundapur police station.
