Mangaluru, September 16: ‘Jana-Mana’, an interactive programme with beneficiaries of various welfare schemes of the state government such as ‘Anna Bhagya’, ‘Ksheera Bhagya’, ‘Manaswini’, ‘Bidayi’, ‘Ksheeradhaare’ and others was held at Milagres Hall here on Tuesday, September 15th.
District in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai inaugurated the program.
During the interaction, Minister B Ramanath Rai spoke on the pros and cons of various projects and also their effective implementation. Beneficiaries of various projects from all the taluks had a free conversation.
MLA J R Lobo presided over the program.
Speaking on this occasion, Minister Rai said, we are aware that some people are misusing the benefits and we will launch an awareness committee in every PDS in order to rectify the irregularities. Stringent action will be taken on anyone found guilty. The government is providing a subsidy of Rs 18-20 crore and Karnataka is the first state in the country to provide free rice to BPL card holders. This is a matter of pride for all of us, he said.
Minister Abhayachandra Jain said, Jana-Mana programme is useful for both government and the people to express their concerns and also to improve further the welfare schemes. Under the leadership of chief minister Siddaramaiah, many people-friendly projects have been launched, he said.
Health and family welfare minister U T Khader said, Jana-Mana programme gives us clarity on the success of the programmes. Anganwadi workers lauded ‘Ksheera Bhagya’, scheme. The children are benefitted by the milk distributed at the Anganwadi centres. All the malnourished children are gaining proper weight, they said.
In the program Youth Service and Sports Minister Abhaychandra Jain, Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim, ZP CEO Sreevidya, MUDA chairman Ibrahim Kodijal, Ministers of the district, presidents of various boards, officials from various departments and beneficiaries participated.
