Kasargod, August 29: CPM has given a bundh call in the district on Saturday August 29th, condemning the murder of one of its activists which took place on the day of Onam Festival on Friday, August 28th.
The district bandh will be observed from 6 am to 6 pm today. All the buses have remained off the roads. People have remained indoors.
Passengers who were unaware of the bundh have got stranded at different places. Many had visited native on the occasion of Onam festival. People are finding difficult to reach their destinations as no mode of transportation is available.
Shops and other firms have remained shut and have supported the bundh.
District superintendent of police has warned that those who try to disrupt peace would face stringent action. Additional police forces have been deployed at some places.

A group which had arrived on a bike murdered a CPM activist using lethal weapons at around 3pm on Friday, August 28th. People are anxious as the murder had taken place on the day of Onam festival.
C Narayana(42) from Kodobelur is the deceased.
While Narayana was sitting along with his brother in a libraray at Kayakunnu this incident had occurred. Three people who arrived on a bike attacked Narayana with lethal weapons. Meanwhile Narayana’s brother Aravind was also stabbed by the miscreants.
The seriously injured two men were initially rushed to hospital in Kanhangad but by then Narayana had breathed his last.
Aravind who sustained serious injuries is being treated in an intensive care unit of a private hospital in Mangaluru.
Post-mortem of the mortal remains of Narayana was conducted at Pariyaram Medical College Hospital on Saturday morning.
