Mangaluru, August 28: The inaugural ceremony of 1.5T MRI and multi-slice CT scan machines for the department of radiodiagnosis and imaging, was held at KMC hospital Attavar on August 27th.
Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadikari of Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala inaugurated the event.
Dr D Veerendra Heggade addressed the gathered and said, I admire the commitment at Manipal group. I have learnt many things from them and adopted them in my institutions. KMC has reached such heights over the years. It is better to detect the disease at an early stage and treat it rather than finding a cure for it at the later stages. Today society has seen lot of changes. Now people are victims of various disease due addiction to drugs, drinks and junk foods, he said.
Dr D Veerendra Heggade thanked all for honouring for him on this occasion.
Dr H S Ballal the pro chancellor of Manipal University said, I am very happy that we have inaugurated 1.5T MRI and multi slice CT machines in KMC. I am grateful to Dharmadhikari for all the contribution to education and health care at rural levels. We need to possess good instruments to detect the disease at early stages, he said.
Dr M Venkataraya Prabhu, dean of Kasturba Medical College welcomed the guests.
The event was presided over by Dr Ramdas M Pai, Chancellor Manipal University.
On this occasion, a felicitation ceremony was also organized to honour Dr D Veerendra Heggade on being conferred the prestigious Padma Vibhushan award.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Anand Venugopal, medical superintendent, KMC.
