Mangaluru, July 22: A bus slid to a ditch and leaned to the compound wall of a house after the axle of the bus got cut. Three persons suffered minor injuries and rest of the passengers escaped unhurt. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning, July 22nd at Vijayanagar near Kumpala.
A private bus number 44 was moving to Bagambila from Mangaluru. While traversing at Vijayanagar, as the axle got cut, the bus moved backwards and slid down to a ditch and leaned to the compound wall of the house owned by Narayana. Three women and a child have suffered minor injuries.
In case, the bus had not slid into the ditch, there was a possibility that the bus might have fallen down the bridge into a river which was in the close proximity. Luckily a major mishap has been averted.
The buses plying from Kumpala to Mangaluru has to take a turn at Bagambila. The passengers who wish to be seated, board into the buses while it moves to Bagambila. Hence the buses will be overloaded and the drivers have to struggle while traversing the high rise road near Chitranjalinagar. As none of the buses had arrived today, all the passengers had board into the same bus and it was overloaded, said the bus staffs.
