Kundapur, July 17: SP K Annamalai has visited the residence of Malathi Shetty(65) in Korgi Charukottige near Thekkate in the taluk on the evening of Thursday, July 16th.
Although Malathi Shetty had disappeared about three weeks ago, no clues were available till now.
SP Annamalai visited her house, conversed with Malathi Shetty’s husband Bhaskar Shetty, son Satish Shetty, daughter Sarala Shetty and other family members and gathered related information.
Speaking to Satish Shetty, SP K Annamalai said the information given by the close ones of Malathi Shetty would help further investigations and special interest will be taken in the investigations of this case.
Meanwhile, Malathi Shetty’s family members expressed suspicions about the involvement of locals in this case for which SP Annamalai assured of investigations over this.
Speaking to the media representatives, SP Annamalai said the police have undertaken an immense search for Malathi Shetty as three weeks have elapsed since her disappearance. Brisk investigations have been already undertaken and that Malathi Shetty had worn gold jewellery while she left her house, he said.
Prima facie it appears that it is not a kidnap case. It is clear from the available evidences that Malathi Shetty had mysteriously gone missing after she went out of the compound of her house. Already information has been passed across the state including temples, old-age homes, and other important places. Police have also searched for her in various places.
The Kundapur DySP, Circle Inspector and Sub-Inspector are investigating the case and the case would be cracked soon, he said.
