Farangipet mishap: Duos deceased is Bangladesh natives, illegal immigration case registered.

Bantwal, July 16: It is reported that the police investigations have revealed that in the landslide mishap that took place at Farangipet, the two workers among the three deceased and the one who safely escaped in this mishap are the illegal immigrants from Bangladesh.

The DK Deputy Commissioner has directed to send the body of the deceased to their native and as per the order, while the concerned officials were enquiring about the permanent address, the matter came to light. The bodies of the deceased have been kept in mortuary at Wenlock hospital in Mangaluru.

It is gathered that, the deceased Milone and Maimilone are basically from Bangladesh. Tarikulla is from West Bengal. Safikulla, the man who safely escaped from the mishap is also from Bangladesh. A illegal immigration case has been registered against Safiulla in Bantwal rural police station. He has been arrested and produced before the court.

Misguided the investigations:

Bantwal ASP Rahul Kumar had questioned two persons who escaped safely from the mishap, immediately after the mishap took place. But none could understand their language.  Later the duos were separately questioned as directed by the District Superintendent of Police. On learning the danger, the workers only revealed that they were from West- Bengal in order to evade the investigations. Deceased Tarikul , basically from West- Bengal had brought these foreign workers to work here.

Half wage for foreigners:

He was taking responsibility of their wage distribution and contact numbers. These Bangladesh workers were employed for minimum wages here. While the foreigners were given Rs 300 as salary, on their account; their in-charge was given additional Rs 200. Their contract handler was paid double of this amount, revealed from the investigations.

The illegal migrants from Bangladesh are spread across the country, and are working as building workers across Karnataka. In various company, they work as watchman, gate keepers, and in hotels, it is said. But they do not have the security or the salary the locals get.

In case, a local had expired in the mishap, each had to be paid Rs 4 lakhs from the Natural Calamity Fund of the government. But it is a case of International law, informed the police.
