Accidental fall from second floor of the hospital claims toddler’s life

Mangalore, June 22:  It has been reported in the city on June 21 Friday at around 5 pm that in a tragic incident, a toddler, who was playing with her sister near window of the colaco hospital room without any protective grill, accidentally fell down from the second floor of the hospital, when she pushed it, resulting in her fall.

A critically injured Marwa was taken to KMC, where she has been declared breathed her last.

The deceased toddler has been identified as Marwa, aged 2, daughter of Mukhtar from Kannur, Kerala, and came to city with her mother.

Sources said that the family from Kannur came to Mangalore as Mukhtar’s wife Noor Jahan from Puttur had to be admitted for her third delivery at colaco hospital and she gave a delivery to baby boy a few days ago.

Mukhtar, resident of Adyar, Kannur was an auto rickshaw driver by profession in Mangalore and Marwa was one among the twin girls born to the couple in Noor Jahan’s first delivery.

Mukhtar alleged hospital authorities for their negligence because of the fact that the windows of the hospital do not have protective grills and beds have been laid parallel to the windows in close proximity had cause the death of his daughter.

Kadri police have registered a case in this regard.
