Mangalore, June 22: The body of a scrap dealer, identified as Abdul Rashid, aged 48, a resident of Kudroli was found at Tannir Bavi beach on June 21, Friday evening.
As per the sources available the deceased has been doing his scrap business in central market and said that on the fateful day which was on Friday morning, an unknown man came to Rashid’s house at around 5.30 am and took him away on some pretext and that was the last time his family saw him.
Though Rashid met his end abruptly, the exact cause of the death will be ascertained only after the post mortem but foul play is not ruled out.
Panambur police arrived at the spot and conducted preliminary investigation and registered a case in this regard.
The body has been shifted to Wenlock hospital for post mortem and former mayor Ashraf visited the spot.
Rashid is survived by wife and three children
