Mangaluru, July 5: Famous social activist Elias Sanctis assumed charge as the president of Rotary Club Mangaluru central for the year 2015-16 on July 4th in a befitting ceremony.
The installation ceremony was held at St Sebastian Church hall, Bendore in the city.
The event was presided over by Msgr Denis Moras Prabhu, vicar general of diocese of Mangaluru.
Rtn Santhosh Shet, president for the year 2014-15 welcomed the gathering. The annual report was read by Rtn Naveen Kumar-secretary.
Addressing the gathering Elias Sanctis said, “I joined Rotary Club five years ago. I will do all the possible during my term of work. Our good works will be remembered by society. He wished all success to the new members.
68 new members enrolled to the Rotary Club Mangaluru central on the same day, thus making it the largest Rotary Club of Mangaluru region.
On the same occasion, Dr Janardhan Shenoy (vice-president), Prasad K Shetty (secretary), Anand D’Souza (joint secretary), Oswald Pais (treasurer) and other new office-bearers also took charge of their posts.
Premanath Kudva, chartered president of the club, Rtn Prasad Shetty, and Rtn Raj Gopal Rai were present on the dais.
