Mangaluru, June 20: The Dakshina Kannada district BJP unit will observe the International Yoga Day on Sunday June 21st, said former MLC Monappa Bhandary.
Addressing a press meet at the BJP office here on Friday June 19th, Monappa Bhandary said, Yoga programmes will be organized in eight centres of district. The programmes will be organized at Beltangady, Puttur, Bantwal, Sullia, Mangaluru south, Mangluru north and Moodbidri. Activists of respective centres will take part in the event. Citizens are requested to take part in the programmes and stay healthy, he said.
Bhandary thanked the union chemicals and fertilizers minister Ananth Kumar for permitting MCF to continue fertilizer production using naphtha till the gas pipeline is connected. This decision has fixed the problems of the farmers, and MCF employees who had lost their jobs.
Speaking about the transfer of MCC commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati, he said, Mangaluru City Corporation is without a commissioner. A massive protest will be organized on June 22nd in front of the MCC office urging appointment of a new MCC commissioner, completion of Town Hall renovation work and to resolve the drainage problems of Mangaluru faced in monsoon season.
