Mangaluru, June 17: The Shree Ram Sene has expressed its fury over the gambling spots which are rising again in the city which spoil the future of the young generation.
The Shree Ram Sene DK district union has opposed the move of the district administration which has come forward to grant permits for such gambling centres. They have also submitted a requisition to the DC regarding the same.
Gambling games such as cards, video games, Skil games, ludo which were illegally taking place in the name of recreation clubs had created havoc earlier in many homes. In the past, the police were successful in curbing this menace in Mangaluru. The district administration then had taken appropriate actions to ensure closure of such clubs which were operating around Mangaluru and see to it that the young generation does not fall prey into this menace. With the closure of such gambling clubs, the youth began concentrating on their work and peace resided in many homes. But now, such gambling centres have started once again in many areas of the city. Already including the Looking Tower building situated in front of the corporation and in many other clubs, gambling games such as carrom, ludo, and video games have begun. Because of the influential hands, the district administration has gone forward to grant permits for such clubs, alleged the Shree Rama Sene leaders.
In the requisition, the Shree Rama Sene has warned of holding severe protests throughout the district, if in case, the district administration and the police department grants permits once again for such gambling clubs.
The delegation comprised of Shree Rama Sene divisional president Anand Shetty Adyar, district president Jeevan Neermarga, vice- president Ganesh Attavara, organizing Secretary K R Shetty Adyar Padavu and others.
