Karkala, June 17: A bike rider had a narrow escape after a tipper lorry moved in reverse manner and collided to his bike.
The accident took place near Nitte Lemina cross on Tuesday, June 16th.
The police were inspecting the vehicles near Nitte Lemina cross, by the side of the Mangaluru- Karkala state highway.
The tipper lorry driver who saw the cops, moved his lorry slowly in reverse manner. The bike rider who was moving behind the lorry, screamed and also horned at the lorry driver. But all the efforts were in vain.
Meanwhile, the lorry collided to the bike which was behind it. The bike is badly damaged.
Rider luckily escaped from the accident by hanging over to a chain present behind the lorry.
Lorry driver tried to escape from the spot. But the auto drivers at the spot caught hold of him and handed him over to the cops.
Lorry driver has been identified as Chandu. As he failed to wear the uniform, he wanted to escape from the police.
The bike rider was a flower merchant. He had bought flowers worth thousands of rupees which were damaged in the incident.
Local police have registered a case.
