Mangaluru, June 16: Eight people have been injured in a collision between cars near Pavanje in the outskirts of the city on the early morning of Tuesday, June 16th.
Collision took place between an Innova car and Maruthi swift car at around 6am in the morning.
In the accident, occupants of the Swift car, Isac Ahmed, Mohammed Ashraf, Musthafa, Mujabil and occupants of the Innova car Francis D’Souza, Jenvia Tauro, Blais Tauro and Jane Tauro suffered injuries who have been admitted to various hospitals.
It is learnt that the occupants of the swift car were from Suratkal.
When the accident took place, Innova car was moving from Bajpe airport towards Udupi while the Maruthi swift car was moving from Shivamogga to Suratkal.
Due to the severity of the accident, the front portion of the two vehicles was damaged.
Traffic on the highway was affected for sometime after the accident.
Suratkal traffic police arrived at the spot and made way for traffic.
Police have filed a case and investigations are on.
