Belthangady, June 11: A woman committed suicide by jumping into well along with her two-month-old child at Janata Colony in Karambaru, Shirlalu on the night of Tuesday June 9th.
Chandravati (29), daughter of Birmana Poojary from Shirlalu, and her child, Chirag, are the deceased.
She ended her life, reportedly frustrated by the never-ending ordeal of treatments she has been undergoing relating to the reported lapse on the part of professionals in operating upon her.
About six years ago Chandravati was married to Chidanand Poojary from Kunjaru in Aryapu village in Puttur taluk. The couple already has a four-year-old son, and the woman committed suicide while she stayed in her parental house during the second delivery.
On Tuesday night, as usual, Chandravathi slept after dinner and it is suspected that she might have gone out along with her child after mid night when all were fast asleep. When she and her child were not found on the next morning, the household began to search her and found the bodies of duos in well.
Her first delivery was conducted through caesarian section procedure. During the second delivery too, caesarian section was conducted in a private hospital in Puttur. After her delivery followed by family planning procedure, she returned home. Within a few days after she returned her parental house, she began to suffer from stomach ache. She went to the hospital where she had taken the treatment earlier, but the problem aggravated. She then went to hospitals in Beltangady and Mangaluru, but her condition did not improve.
Beltangady police circle inspector, B R Lingappa, tahsildar, Putta Shetty, Vanoor police sub-inspector, Vinayak Billava, and others visited her home.
Family members feel that frustrated over her stomach pain, Chandravati had committed suicide along with her kid after everyone else slept on Tuesday night.
A case is registered at Venur police station
