Puttur, May 9: The entire world is stretching forward all possible help towards the earthquake struck Nepal.
Donors from the state and abroad are contributing money to help the people in Nepal. But some are utilizing this chance and are collecting funds for themselves instead of sending to Nepal.
Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district had asked to follow some rules while collecting money for the victims.
A team of three youths dressed like executives, holding a box were found collecting money for the earthquake victims in Subramanya on Friday.
It is said that some people had also warned them against continuing the collection in the area. Their collections continued, but on Friday night some people doubted them.
Very close to the police station, the group had collected money. When questioned, the youth revealed that they were from a service oriented organization in Davanagere and that they did not issue any receipt for their collections. The total cash collected by them in town is not yet known.
Citizens have been warned about the fake fund collectors in the name of earthquake relief.
