Shop set ablaze by miscreants in Mudipu, goods worth 7 lakhs charred.

Mangaluru, April 28: A shop in Mudipu was set on fire after pouring kerosene by miscreants before sunrise on Tuesday, April 28th. Goods worth Rs 7 lakhs is estimated to be charred in fire.

A shop named as ‘News Point’, which sold stationery, mobile phones and newspapers in Mudipu was burnt in fire.

Mudipu residents Venkatesh and Jagadish own this shop. The estimated loss is Rs 7 lakhs.

The nearby hoteliers who noticed fire inside the shop at about 5 am informed Venkatesh.

The locals were able to extinguish the fire, but by then the goods in the shop were partly gutted in fire. Since Kerosene oil was seen spilled till outside the shop, it is established that fire the shop was set on fire.

The locals opine that as good business was carried in the shop, jealousy miscreants might have set the shop ablaze.

Cops are on a look out for the suspects.
