Five college students nabbed for selling Ganja near Indrali Rly.Station

Mangalore/Udipi, June 13: It has been reported on June 12, Wednesday afternoon that udipi town police team led by Police sub-inspector (PSI) of the station, Meenakshi, and PSI of crime branch, Aithappa, have arrested five college students for selling ganja worth Rs 20,000/= weighing 850 gms near Indrali railway cross, near Udipi.Police also taken possession of six mobile phones from these students.

Police sources said that students were found to have concealed the plastic sachets containing ganja inside their T-Shirts and police have carried out the raid based on reliable information about the ganja business activities happening in the area.

The accused had started fleeing after seeing the police team, but the policemen succeeded in chasing and arresting them.

Arrested have been identified as Shashanka R Tingalaya,aged 19,son of Ravindra G Tingalaya,Kodavoor,Godwin,aged 19,son of Stany D’Souza,Santhekatte,Sham Pras Godwin, aged 18,son of Samuel Santosh,Hanumantanagar,Nittor,Shervin,aged 19,son of Stephen Amanna,Shiribeedu and Akash Salian,aged 18,son of Anand Kitti Salian,from Dombivili,Mumbai

A case has been registered in the town police station against the students. Investigation is in progress.
