Mangaluru, April 24: The grand culmination of post-centenary golden jubilee celebrations of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church, Urwa will be organized at the Church premises on Friday May 1st informed parish priest of Urwa Church Fr Victor D’Mello at a press meet here on Thursday April 23rd. The invitation was released on this occasion.
Post the invitation release, Fr Victor addressed the media and said, Immaculate Conception Church was established in 1865. Till now 26 parish priests and 39 assistant parish priests have rendered their services in this church. At present, Urwa parish has a total 640 families.
Ashoknagar St Dominic Church members will bring ‘Hore Kanike’ in a procession from their parish to Urwa on April 26th.
Inauguration and blessing of the newly-built belfry and Lady of Lourdes grotto is scheduled on May 1st at 4:30 pm.
Thanks giving Eucharist mass will be offered by Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangaluru diocese at 5 pm and homily will be delivered by bishop of Shivamogga Dr Francis Serrao. The post-centenary golden jubilee finale will be held at 6.45 pm presided over by Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, he announced.
