Mangaluru, April 19: Inaugural ceremony of the ‘Divine Prayer Centre’ which was newly built at Thokkottu here was held on Sunday April 19th.
Fr Denis Moras Prabhu inaugurated the ceremony by lighting the lamp.
Bishop of Beltangady- Dr Lawrence Mukkuzhy, offered the very first mass at the retreat centre and also blessed the premises.
MLA J R Lobo addressing the audience on this occasion said, Retreats soothe your mind. This retreat centre has to be used only for spiritual cause. Such kinds of retreat centres are required in Dakshina Kannada, he said.
Health minister U T Khadar inaugurated the concrete road to the Divine Prayer Centre. The road was constructed with Khadar’s assistance. In his address, he hoped that the centre would be beneficial for devotees and help in building a healthy society.
In his presidential address, Dr Lawrence Mukkuzhy said, people should make use of this retreat centre to find inner peace and pleasure. Divine Prayer Centre is built not to make money from the public. It is purely for the betterment of the public.
During the ceremony Rohan Monteiro, Managing Director of Rohan Corporation was felicitated.
Director of Divine Prayer Centre Fr Joseph Vaniyanthara welcomed the guests and also proposed the vote of thanks.
The program was compeered by Fr Franklin Philip D’Souza.
On this occasion, Provincial councellor Paul Parakabel and others were present.
