Mangaluru, April 20: A “Horekanike” procession was led to Ullal Uroos on behalf of Congress party workers by former union minister, B Janardhana Poojary On Sunday April 19th.
The procession flagged off by Janrdhan Poojary from Nehru Maidan was taken to Ullal Dargah where Uroos is being held.
On behalf of Congress activists and Kudroli Lord Gokarnanatheshwara Temple, over 1,000 muras of rice and other things were offered for the Uroos.
Speaking on the occasion, Poojary said that in the holy Uroos being held at Ullal Dargah, which held once in five years, people from all faiths participate in the Uroos. Offering Horekanike was in vogue since ages in tune to which Horekanike was taken to Ullal Uroos.
MLA J R Lobo, president of Kudroli Temple managing committee H S Sairam, treasurer Padmaraj R, city corporators Lanslot Pinto, Prakash Salian, Deepak Poojary, Appi and many others were also present.
