Mangaluru, April 10: National Land Survey day was observed by Karnataka Survey, Settlement and Land Records Department, Mangaluru in meeting hall of Deputy Commissioner Office here on Friday, April 10th.
Presiding over the function, Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner AB Ibrahim praised the wonderful task done by the-then trading company -The East India Company; which undertook the survey, measuring the width and length of nation from Kashmir to Kanyakumari two centuries ago.
DC said, during those days, the British surveyed the land accurately without modern amenities. But now although modern equipments are available, we fail to accurately survey the land.
ZP CEO PI Shreevidya, chief guest on the occasion said, as the policy decision are based on the survey details, it is a crucial record for the government agencies as well as to the citizens.
DC AB Ibrahim, felicitated retired survey officers Medappa, Bhaskar, Sanjeeva and Sudhaker on this occasion.
On this occasion, Deputy director of survey, settlement and land records- Srinivasan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sadashiva Prabhu, Tahsildar Mohan Rao were also present.
