Skill development centre for youths will be opened in Mangaluru- Dharmendra Pradhan

Mangaluru, April 6: The new polypropylene unit at Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) was inaugurated by Union minister of state for petroleum and natural gas Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday April 6th.

Dharmendra Pradhan addressing the gathered expressed his happiness for visiting MRPL and said more preference has to be given to education and healthcare. Mangaluru is the connecting hub for most of the foreign countries to deal with import and export business. A ‘Skill Development Centre’ for youths will be opened in Mangaluru and he assured that he and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel would take up this matter seriously. A few families who stay close to the industry are facing problems and this issue has to be sorted out sooner. I will meet them personally and collect their opinions, he said.

Minister Pradhan speaking about the work on urea-based GAIL pipeline said, we import urea from other countries. Both the central and the state governments should join hands in completing the GAIL pipeline.

Minister for youth services and sports and fisheries Abhaychandra Jain praised MRPL and said that after MRPL came into existence, the land value at Mangaluru had raised. MRPL should provide job opportunities for youths of those families that are staying closer by to the industry, he said.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel who spoke on this occasion said that, Mangaluru is developing. MRPL, SEZ and other companies are fast progressing. MRPL is giving preference to Narendra Modi’s Make in India and Swachch Bharat campaigns. The company has to fulfill the requirements of various farmers who have given up their land for the MPRL, he said.

MRPL distributed keys for newly-constructed toilets at various government funded schools across the district on this occasion.
