Haridwar Apr 4: Thousands of devotees of Shri Kashimath Samsthan from all over the world have congregated at Vyasashram at Sadhu Bela in Haridwar for grand celebration (Navathi) of His Holiness Srimad Sudhindra Thirtha Swamiji. Celebrations have commenced from 1st Apr with mass prayers at Lord Ved Vyasa Presiding deity of the math lead by Swami Samyamindra Thirtha. Special Havan rituals and chantings have already commenced by the large gathering of Vedic Pandits who have come from south India for these special rituals specially from Cochin, North Canara, Mangalore, Hubli and Bangalore. Rakshatra Havan, Navagraha Shanthi, 1008 Chandika Havan and Ganga Astothara on the banks of Ganga.
Born on 31 March 1926, in Cochin in Keral, Shri Sudhindra Thirtha got initiated as Swamiji and successor of the math by Srimad Sukrathindra Thirtha Swamiji when Swamii was just 19 years of age in Venkataramana temple Mulki a town close to Mangalore in Karnataka. Kashi Math has spread all over the country. Main presiding diety of the math is Vyasa Raghupathi. This math is the only math in India which worships Sage Vedvyasa as Lord and main diety of the Math. Swamiji has immortalised the immortal Sage Vedvyasa by constructing Bal Ved Vyasa temple at his birth place Kalpi in Uttar Pradesh and Vyasa Mandir with Son Shuka and his four Vedic disciples at Sapta Sarovar near Saptha Rishi Ashram at Sadhu Bela in Haridwar.
Swami Sudhindra, adored for his extraordinary bondage of caring towards the devotees, took keen interest in reviving the Sanatana Culture and also preserving the rich traditions of Saraswath identity. Gowda Saraswath Community which has excelled in Banking and business has also seen contribution in literary, government and political administration. Welfare and serving the society is the main agenda of the Swamiji till now ever since Swamiji got initiated into Sanyasa in 1944.
Swamiji’s birth Nakshatra Swathi falls on 6 th Apr , hence main programme has been scheduled on this day where Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu along with other senior serving and retired govt officers are also likely to take part to seek the blessings of Swamiji.
