Ullal, April 3: The 20th celebration of five-yearly Uroos and 423rd yearly celebration of Khutubuzaman Hazrath Assayed Muhammed Shareeful Madani (Q.S) Thangal was inaugurated on the night of Thursday, April 2nd.
The event was presided over by Ullal Khwazi Assayyed Fazal Koyamma Thangal at the Tazul Ulama dais in the premises of Ullal Darga. Assayyed Muhammed Umarul Farook Thangal inaugurated the posotu.
General Secretary of Akhila Bharat Sunni Jam Iyyatul Ulama A P Aboobukar Musliyar delivered the main speech. State Planning Commission vice president C M Ibrahim, Health and Family welfare Minister U T Khader were present as the chief guests along with other dignitaries.
Darga president Haji U S Hamza welcomed. General Secretary U T Ilyas thanked.
On the dais, Darga vice president Ashraf Ahmed Raitway, joint secretary Haji Muhammed Ashraf, Farooq Margatale, Treasurer Muhammed Haji, Acountant J Abdul Hameed and others were present on the dais.
Professor Shaikana Ahmed Bava Musliar of Sayyed Madani Arabic College and Chancellor of Yenepoya University- Y Abdulla Kunhi were felicitated with “Tajul Ulama” award.
This is the first time which witnessed huge crowd on the first day which had gathered over the expected numbers in the historical Uroos program which is held once in five years.
