Bantwal, March 21: A young girl expired in a bike-tanker accident which occurred near BC Road circle here on Friday March 21st.
The deceased is identified as Deepthi Rai (24), daughter of Umesh Rai, a resident of Perla. Deepthi was riding pillion with her fiancé Vinod.
Vinod, resident of Kasargod, and Deepthi were riding from Kasargod to Mangaluru via Vittal to visit Deepthi’s father Umesh who works with Rai estate. When they reached near BC road junction, a speeding tanker in a bid to overtake another vehicle, rammed to their bike.
As an impact of the accident, when Deepthi fell on the road, the tanker moved over her. She was immediately rushed to hospital, where she was declared dead.
Bike rider Vinod escaped with minor injuries. Family sources said that Deepthi was engaged to Vinod.
Bantwal cops have registered a case.
