Mangaluru, February 25: A man who had arrived on a pilgrimage from Mumbai had gone missing from Dharmasthala, in Beltangady. It is reported to have been traced alive at Bolar here.
An elderly man was found in the vicinity by the locals at Bolar.
The locals who supposed him to be the missing Ramdas Poojary whose photo had appeared in the media over the past week, informed the Beltangady police, who in turn conveyed the message to Pandeshwar police.
Pandeshwar cops took him to the police station from the spot and handed him later to Beltangady police who came to the city.
The city Police sources have confirmed that the person found by the locals is Ramdas Poojary. Ramdas had been robbed, and had become mentally unstable, said the police sources.
The family members of Ramdas Poojary in Mumbai have been informed and it is said that they will arrive soon in Beltangady.
