Mangaluru, February 23: Pertained to the assault on BCA student named Riyaz, the persons who were accused of the offence are detained, it is gathered.
The assault had taken place in connection with the Facebook post in which his male classmate is seen lying on the laps of some girls.
Six youths who have been detained in connection to the incident, are being probed and by evening more information may be obtained, said the Police sources.
As the case is sensitive in nature, Santosh Babu, deputy commissioner of the city commissionerate (law and order), and Ravikumar, Panambur assistant commissioner of police, are at Suratkal police station to guide detailed probe into the incident.
Santosh Babu has invited leaders of some organizations to the police station to hold discussions pertaining to the incident. He told them that legal actions would be taken against those who make nasty posts via social media. He also informed that strict instructions would be issued to all the police stations falling under his jurisdiction asking the cops to take up the night shift duties sincerely.
