Bengaluru, February 13: In a train accident which occurred near Bidaragere, Anekal here on Friday February 13th, at least eight members have lost lives and many have suffered injuries.
Several coaches of the Ernakulam-Bengaluru Inter-City Express derailed near Anekal at around 7.45 am after the train’s engine caught fire.
In the accident, at least 8 to 10 people including a child has expired.
About six ambulances from Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have rushed to the accident venue. Railway authorities have rushed rescue teams to the spot and rescue operation is going on. The local villagers have also rushed to the spot to help the injured. The injured are being rushed to nearby hospitals.
Sources said, many passengers still remain trapped in the derailed coaches.
