Mangaluru, February 13: The attention of the central government will be drawn towards the excessive usage of steroids in the drugs used for the treatment of skin infections, informed physician as well as MP Dr Preetham Gopinath Mundae.
She was speaking after inaugurating the 43rd National Conference “DERMACON-2015”, a conference of Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists on Thursday, February 12th, organized in TMA Pai International Convention Centre.
Uncontrolled usage of steroids in the drugs used for the treatment of skin ailments may exhibit adverse affects, hence it has to be controlled. She said that as a physician and MP she would rise the topic in the parliament. Young doctors have to stress on the clinical skin treatment rather than cosmetology.
Venkatram Mysuru, new president of the association presiding over the ceremony said, the organization has chalked out various projects for the people and app called derm seva will be introduced. If a patient residing in remote area uploads his photograph through this app, the dermatologist with his self-interest will be able to suggest him. Through this, service can be rendered to the people residing in remote areas across the country, he said.
He also informed that a “Swastha Twache” campaign is also being organized.
Dr Deepak Parik, president of Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL) also spoke on this occasion.
