Byndoor-Kasargod passenger train flagged off by former Chief minister B S Yeddyurappa.

Kundapur, February 10: Much awaited Byndoor-Kasargod passenger train was flagged off by former chief minister and current MP B S Yeddyurappa at Byndoor railway station on Monday evening, February 9th.

Union railway minister Suresh Prabhu inaugurated 9 new trains all over the country at 6pm from New Delhi simultaneously on February 9th through remote control.

Speaking on this occasion he said, Byndoor Railway station is one among the railway stations of the coastal areas that brings income. This railway station is responsible to provide employment for few persons. This station will be turned to a model station in order to upgrade the Byndoor railway station.

He further said, “This train service will lead to the development of Byndoor, and will prove vital for pilgrims to Kollur from Kerala. Pressure will be put on union railway minister Suresh Prabhu to extend this train to Guruvayur and name it as Murali-Mookambika passenger train.

On this occasion, MP Shoba Karandlage, Udupi district BJP President Thingale Vikramarjuna Hegde were present among other dignitaries.

Train timings:

The train service (56666/56665) will officially start from Tuesday February 10th and the time table along with the stations have been announced.

This train will depart Kasargod daily morning at 6.40 am and arrive at Byndoor at 11.50 am.

The train departs from Byndoor at 1.05pm and reach Kasargod at 6.10pm.

This passenger train with 16 coaches will stop at 18 stations.
