CERTIFICATE COURSE IN MANUAL THERAPY ORGANISED AT MANGALORE!

Mangalore,Feb.03: Manual Therapy Foundation of India(MTFI) organized Certificate Course in Manual Therapy (CMT) from January 25th to February 3rd 2015. The resource person for the program is International reputed manual Therapy Instructor Prof.(Dr.) Umasankar Mohanty. The training is organized at MTFI International Center, Janvi Plaza, Bunts Hostel Circle, Mangalore. Dr.Umasankar Mohanty is Founder President of Manual Therapy Foundation of India and he is also the President of The Indian Association of Physiotherapists. He has trained so far 13,465 Physiotherapists around the globe in manipulative therapy. He has two state of the art manual therapy clinics at Car street and Bunt’s Hostel, Mangalore.

26 Physiotherapists from different states of India and other countries are in Mangalore to attend the Certificate Course. The participants are from New Delhi, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Vishakhapatnam, Belgaum, Abu Dhabi and Qatar. They are here to add more knowledge to their profession as physiotherapist.

I found the certificate course very interesting and effective. I can now treat Low back pain, Neck pain and Shoulder pain efficiently. The programme has expanded my professional horizons said Dr. Shakti Sharma, Physiotherapist at Aakash Health care Polyclinic, Dwarka.

Dr. Shruti Saini, Sports Physiotherapist from Delhi said that my understanding of sports biomechanics and Injury has enhanced in the course and I am happy that I can treat sports persons more efficiently.

I am happy to learn manual therapy from a great stalwart Dr.Umasankar Mohanty. My skill is enhanced to a large extent. About manual Therapy:  Manual Therapy is a specialized advanced branch of Physiotherapy. Manual therapy is application of an accurately determined and specifically directed manual force to the body, in order to improve mobility in areas that are restricted; in joints, in connective tissues or in skeletal muscles.

In the present era of Evidence based practice several systematic reviews (Level I and II) and Randomized Controlled Trials have proven the efficacy of manual therapy as a mode of treatment for various mechanical problems of Joints, Muscles, Ligaments and Nerves. It is very useful for mechanical Low back pain( 2nd most common problem next in frequency to common cold), Disc Prolapse, Neck pain, Thoracic pain, Pelvic region, Shoulder pain, Knee pain, Ankle injuries, Hand pain,stiffness and Headache. Manual Therapy gives instantaneous relief to the patients with above problems.
