Udupi, January 13: A head on collision between a Bolero and Autorickshaw claimed the life of an auto driver in an accident which occurred near the brick kiln at Uplady near Bannadi in Udupi district Sunday night, January 11th.
The deceased has been identified as Shankara Marakala.
At around 7.15 pm on Sunday, a Mahindra Bolero vehicle which came Kota Junction moved to extreme left while moving through a small curve near the brick kiln at Uplady. Meanwhile, the vehicle, which did not have any registration number, collided to the auto rickshaw injuring Shankara Marakala seriously.
The locals rushed him to a private hospital in Brahmavar for treatment, but they were told that he was brought dead.
The auto rickshaw was badly mangled due to the accident. A case was registered in Kota police station based on a complaint filed by a local named Ganesh Amin.
