Mangaluru , January 5: MLC Ivan D’Souza has revealed that the state government has sent a circular to the excise department to accept self-attested documents in all government departments such as Sakaala, Urban Development, Police, electricity and other.
Speaking to the media, on Monday, January 5th, Ivan said, following several complaints by the people the matter was discussed in the Council and in response; Excise Minister V Srinivas Prasad has stated that self attested documents will be accepted here after.
Ivan said that the government has notified all the Deputy Commissioners in the state to direct
Government Departments to accept self-attested documents.
Ivan said, in Dakshina Kannada district, the congress has set a target to en-roll 1,75,000 members. The previous deadline set for enrollment drive has been extended till February 15th, he said.
Ivan further said, during the membership drive, the party workers will visit every house-old and convince them to en-roll to Congress.
On this occasion, Deputy Mayor Kavitha, Former mayor of Mangalore City Corporation Shashidar Hegde, were present among others.
