Kokkada, December 9: The Uppinangady sub inspector Jagadish Shetty and Nelyadi cops raided a lodge located at Kokkada Jodumarga, and detained a couple on Tuesday December 9th.
The girl from Kadaba Kalara, is a student of a polytechnic at Sullia, and the youth identified as Pawan Kumar Bhandary, a resident of Ramakunja Kedila were detained by the cops.
It is said that on Tuesday morning, Pawan brought the girl to the lodge, reportedly telling the staff there that she was his younger sister. He also reportedly told them that four more of their ‘family members’ would arrive at the lodge.
Publics of Kadaba area had kept a watch on Pawan’s movements and later informed the Nellyady outstation police. The police immediately conducted the operation and raided the lodge and detained the pair.
During interrogation, the girl reportedly claimed that Pawan had brought her to the lodge by telling some lies and that she was unaware of his motives. The girl has filed a complaint against Pawan Kumar of attempt to molest her.
Meanwhile, the news was in air that the couple from different communities have been caught in a lodge; huge crowd gathered in front of the lodge. The cops revealed the matter to them and brought the situation under control.
When questioned, Pawan is said to have initially tried misleading the police with falsehood, but later reportedly the spilled the beans.
The locals complained that in the past, Pawan has been involved in similar cases, by deceiving girls into and forcing them undesirable activities.
