Mangaluru,nov.27 : In wake of Bengaluru police top brass  denying permission for the much hyped ‘Kiss of Love’, which was scheduled to be held on November 30, the Hindu Mahasabha activists here came on streets to celebrate and support the decision on Wednesday, November 26.

It can be recalled that Mahasabha’s Pranavananda  Swamiji had recently announced that he will leave no stone unturned to ensure that ‘Kiss of Love’ organizers are denied permission.

The planned event against moral policing had earned opprobrium from all political parties in the state who found it unacceptable, besides raising the hackles of rightwing organisations which threatened to counter it. “We havecome to the conclusion that if we permit this particular programme, it will lead to public display of kissing and such other obscene act as defined under Section 294 of the IPC,” Bengaluru Police Commissioner M N Reddi had said yesterday. He said Sec 294 of IPC bars any obscene act in public places, and revention of any cognisable offence under IPC or any other law imposed is the fundamental responsibility of the state police under the Karnataka Police Act.
