Mangaluru, November 25: The nominees list under six categories for Global Konkani Music Awards for the year 2013, the 6th of its edition has been announced by Mandd Sobhann.
Mandd Sobhann, is an organization working for the promotion of Konkani language, music and culture.
Nominees list are as follows:
Best Singer Female – Carol Sequeira, Meera Crasta, Shilpa Cutinha
Best Singer Male – Nithin Koottungal, Prajoth D’Sa, Robin Sequeira
Best Composer – Joel Pereira, Llyod Rego, Roshan D’Souza
Best Lyricist – Irene D’Souza, Lloyd Rego, Walter Menezes
Best Music Arranger – Elick Vaz, Roshan D’Souza, Vanil Veigas
Best Music Album – Olavo Rodrigues (‘Love You Goa’), Prajoth D’Sa (‘Uddi Uddi’), Roshan and Lloyd (‘Chandare’)
Winner in each category will be announced on the day of the awards. The top 3 nominees in all the categories will be felicitated. Each award consists of Rs 25,000 cash prize, the coveted title and a trophy.
The awards will be presented at a ceremony to be held at 6 pm on Sunday, December 21st at Kalaangann, Shakthinagar.
Varsha Usgaonker, a renowned Hindi and Marathi cine and TV star and a Konkani singer as well, will be the chief guest. She will also present a Konkani song on the occasion.
Emerging cine star Ester Noronha, accompanied by Roshan, Richy, Theo, Melwyn and Patson will entertain the audiences by their performances. Nach Sobhann troupe will also perform scintillating dances.
Popular singer and a TV anchor Lavita Lobo and award winning playwright Arun Raj Rodrigues will compeer the ceremony.
