Mangaluru, November 22: A man has been arrested on the charges of molesting an NRI student from USA by Konaje police on Friday November 21st.
The accused is Abubakker Siddique (36), a resident of Madani Nagar.
As per the complaint, on November 18th, the 19-year-old girl had been to a cyber cafe managed by Abubakker. While she was working on a computer in a cabin, the accused molested her.
The girl is an NRI from the USA. She is pursuing in 2nd year BSc (Nursing) at a private nursing college here.
Abubakker also allegedly threatened the girl and warned her of dire consequences if she reveals the incident to anyone. Though she hesitated initially, she later revealed the incident to her college principal who in turn informed her parents.
On November 21st, the complaint was filed in Konaje police station and the accused was arrested and produced before the court on the same day.
