Bantwal, November 13: The condition of a sick beggar woman was pitiable who was left unattended for a long time due to the lack of response by health department.
The sick beggar woman was struggling for life and was pleading for help the whole day on Wednesday November 12th at a deserted bus stand at Devarakatte Kotramana Gundi, Belthangady.
Devadas Shetty, member of town municipal council who saw the woman, phoned the Bantwal council officials at 10am and informed them about her bad condition.
The officials in turn had informed the community health department and asked them to take her to the hospital. But till 4 pm she was left unattended.
Devadas Shetty later contacted the Mangalore district health officials and requested them to send an ambulance. The eyewitnesses revealed, the health department did not bother to send the ambulance till 7 pm.
Finally, the council member and locals admitted the woman to the community health center.
