Mangalore, October 17: The Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishat activists lead by Jagadish Shenava of Vishwa Hindu Parishad laid siege at Kavoor police station to protesting on the alleged assault of Charan- an outfit’s activist and forced to suspend the police inspector Umesh Kumar immediately.

Jagadish alleged that, “Eventhough Assistant Sub Inspector of Kavoor station filed an FIR against the inspector in connection to the assault on our youth, the department has not kept him under suspension,” argued Jagadish, VHP district president, who directed the Dal members to be stationed and raise slogans till the sunset.

The Dal activists who had arrived in the morning were stopped in the road by the cops by erecting barricades on the road. Chaos erupted over ten minutes dismantling the barricades placed. Later Jagadish demanded the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Pandeshwar division, Ravikumar to suspend the inspector to facilitate unbiased probe into the matter.

The traffic flow was disrupted as the protesters sat on the road.

Addressing the media, Jagadish alleged that, the police had not suspended the accused inspector. There was no need to beat Charan as the case was dealt by the court and warrant was issued by the court. He warned that the Dal would intensify the protest and would sit before the station untill justice was granted.
