Kundapur, September 20: It is alleged that a retired ASI Ganapaiah Shettigar has been assaulted by his neighbour on petty issue. Ganapaiah Shettigar, is residing in Kaalavara near Vanadurga Devi temple.
It is alleged that his neighbour Raghu Shetty, son of Beechamma Shedti had illegally gained entry to the courtyard of Ganapayya’s house and assaulted the elderly man. Ganapayya was working in his farm along with other workers. Beechamma Shedti, Baabi Shedti and Mutthu Shedti came to the spot objected on cutting the leaves and abused the retired ASI. It is learnt that, following this Raghu Shetty striked him using a wooden staff and threatened him. After assaulting Ganapayya, Raghu fled from the site immediately.
A complaint is filed against the accused by Ganapaiah Shettigar in Kundapur police station.
