Varun Dhawan is possibly one of the best dancers in Bollywood today. But with ‘Chunar’, the actor takes a step ahead in his career. One of the most poignant songs from the album, ‘Chunar’ has Varun taking up contemporary dancing and creates something which you now call, the ‘modern day contemporary tandav’.
While the audiences have loved his performance in the song, Varun considers this the ‘most difficult’ song for him in ABCD 2. Why? “For ‘Chunar’, I had to do contemporary dancing which I haven’t ever done in my life. It’s not suited for the body type I have. It needed me to be a lot more flexible. But we had to practise a lot and I think Puneet should be given all the credit for the song. My body is more suitable for hip-hop and krumping, which I have done in my previous films. So for me to do something like ‘Chunar’ looked exciting but was very challenging as well,” smiled Varun.
Not just the choreography, Varun feels he’s been lucky with his songs too. “There are two men who have made it possible for me always- Sachin-Jigar. It’s my third film with them and honestly, they make the best songs for me and whatever I am today, they have a huge role to play in my achievement. With ABCD 2 also, the songs have become a huge hit and that’s a great thing.”
And his smiles don’t need to stop. Minutes after launching the song, Hrithik Roshan has already shared it on Twitter and Varun’s thrilled. “Can you believe it? Someone of Hrithik’s calibre has shared the song and it can’t be better than this. I am so happy now,” he said, beaming from ear to ear.
Hrithik, who’s known for his excellent dancing skills, is someone Varun ‘looks up to’ and the ‘compliment coming from him means a lot to him’. The Mohenjo Daro star immediately tweeted:
